A man has been charged with murder following the death of Gary Carlisle in Preston

Jacob Hill, 32, of no fixed address, is accused of murdering Gary Carlisle, 62, who died in the hospital a week after a reported assault on March 12.

Officers were called to Ribbleton Hall Drive near Moor Nook School at about 6:15 am on March 12, where they found Mr. Carlisle with serious injuries.

He was taken to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries on March 19.

Following a Home Office postmortem examination, it was determined that Mr. Carlisle died from a blunt force head injury.

A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder and was later detained under the Mental Health Act.

Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, Jacob Hill was charged with Mr. Carlisle’s murder. Hill has also been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm on a woman during the same incident.

Hill is scheduled to appear before Preston magistrates on Friday morning.

Police have stated that their thoughts are with Gary Carlisle’s family, who are being supported by specially trained officers.
