A Leyland man has been summonsed to appear in court next month in connection with allegations of historic sexual offences that reportedly occurred in Croston between 1970 and 1977.
John Priestley, 82, of Glamis Road, Leyland, has been issued with a postal requisition to appear at Preston Magistrates Court on Thursday, May 22nd, 2025.
He faces seven counts of indecent assault, Lancashire Police have confirmed.
The charges follow consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service and relate to alleged incidents involving teenage girls in Croston, South Ribble, during the 1970s.
Lancashire Police are urging anyone who may have been a victim of any sexual offence, regardless of when it occurred, to come forward. They can be contacted by calling 101.
This is a developing story, and further updates will be provided as they become available.
