A 63-year-old man has tragically died following an industrial incident at Seaforth Docks earlier today.
Emergency services were called to the scene in Sefton at approximately 10:15 am after reports that the man had been involved in an incident with a forklift truck.
Despite the swift response of paramedics, the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Merseyside Police have confirmed the man’s death and have stated that his next of kin have been informed.
A specially trained family liaison officer is now providing support to the bereaved family during this incredibly difficult time.
A joint investigation to thoroughly understand the circumstances surrounding this fatal incident has been launched.
Detectives from Merseyside Police will be working alongside the Health and Safety Executive to determine the sequence of events leading to the man’s death.
