The family of 46-year-old Martin O’Donovan, who tragically died after an incident on Stonyhurst Road in Woolton on Friday, April 18th, have released a heartfelt tribute.
Describing Martin as a “loving, caring, fun, and intelligent son, brother and uncle,” his family emphasized his ability to “light up any room with his humour and presence.”
They shared his life motto, “keep smiling,” highlighting his deep devotion to family and friends.
An accomplished engineer and skilled outdoorsman, Martin was also remembered as being “well-read, well-travelled, and full of light.” His family expressed their devastation at his “cruel and senseless” passing but found solace in knowing that his “wonderfully joyous spirit will live on in everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him.”
Merseyside Police confirmed that a 41-year-old man, Stephen Bates of Herondale Road, Mossley Hill, has been charged with Martin O’Donovan’s murder and has been remanded in custody.
He is due to appear at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, April 22nd.
