A 41-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of 46-year-old Martin O’Donovan in Woolton on Friday night.
Police were called to Stonyhurst Road at approximately 11.45pm on Friday, April 18th, following reports that a car had been driven at Mr O’Donovan, causing serious injuries.
Emergency services attended the scene and Mr O’Donovan was rushed to hospital. Sadly, despite medical intervention, he succumbed to his injuries.
Stephen Bates, 41, of Herondale Road, Mossley Hill, was arrested at the scene. He has now been charged with murder and remanded into custody.
He is scheduled to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court on Tuesday, April 22nd.
Merseyside Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information to come forward.
