A local man in his 50s has tragically died following a motorcycle collision in Chorley yesterday evening (Monday, April 14th).
Police were called to Park Road at approximately 5:30 pm after a Kawasaki ZX 600 travelling north from the town centre lost control on a right-hand bend.
The incident occurred close to the entrance of Astley Park.
The rider sustained serious injuries in the collision and sadly passed away later.
Sergeant Laura Kendall, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, expressed her condolences, saying,
“First and foremost my thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the man who has lost his life as a result of this collision.”
She is appealing to the public for any information that could assist their investigation.
“I would like to appeal to anyone who saw what happened or who saw the motorbike prior to the collision, or anyone who has any CCTV, dashcam, Ring doorbell or mobile footage to get in touch.”
