Emergency services responded to a significant fire in Burscough this morning, which saw a garage fire spread to multiple domestic properties and vehicles on Priory Close.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene at 07:20 on Monday, April 14th, 2025, and initially dispatched eight fire engines to tackle the blaze.
Upon arrival, firefighters were faced with a fire that had originated in a garage and subsequently spread to three adjacent domestic properties and a number of vehicles.
Crews worked swiftly to contain the fire, utilizing eight breathing apparatus, one light portable pump, and multiple jets to extinguish the flames.
An update issued at 10:00 confirmed that the incident had been scaled down, with six fire engines remaining at the scene. Firefighters continued to monitor the situation and actively extinguish any remaining hotspots.
Further progress was made by 11:00, with the number of fire engines reduced to three. Crews remained in attendance at that time, focusing on damping down the affected areas and continuing to monitor and extinguish any lingering hotspots to ensure the safety of the area.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and investigations are likely to be underway.
There have been no immediate reports of injuries at this time.
