Over 6,000 homes in the BB12 area of Padiham, East Lancashire, are currently experiencing a power outage this afternoon.
Electricity North West confirmed the widespread disruption, stating that engineers are on-site and working to restore power as quickly as possible.
The power cut, which was reported earlier today, has affected a significant number of properties in the Padiham area. Electricity North West is estimating that power will be restored by approximately 10:00 PM tonight.
In a statement released on social media, Electricity North West said:
“We are aware of a power cut currently affecting 6000 properties in the #BB12 area in #Padiham. Our engineers are on site alongside North West Fire Service.
Our engineers have advised that we are estimating to get your power back on at 22:00.
We are sorry for any inconvenience caused; we understand being without power is difficult. If you need any support, please call us on 105. Thanks.”
Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service also confirmed their presence at the scene, indicating a potential incident requiring their assistance. In their statement, they said:
“We are currently assisting Electricity North West at an incident in Padiham. If you are affected by loss of power, see updates on their page.”
