A young girl was treated for minor injuries this morning following a collision with a car on the A59 towards Brockholes.
Emergency services were called to the scene on New Hall Lane at approximately 7:40 am on Thursday, April 10th.
The incident occurred close to the Shell petrol station and involved a single vehicle and a pedestrian, who has been confirmed to be a girl.
Both Lancashire Constabulary and the North West Ambulance Service attended the location. Paramedics assessed the girl at the scene and she is currently receiving treatment for what are described as minor injuries.
The road remained open following the incident, although there may have been some minor traffic disruption in the immediate vicinity while emergency services attended.
Lancashire Constabulary has not yet released further details regarding the circumstances of the collision. Enquiries are likely ongoing.
