Following a widespread appeal on social media, the family of young Huxley, who choked on a chip at Sycamore Farm – Farmhouse Inns in Burnley on Wednesday evening, has successfully connected with the heroic individuals who intervened to save his life.

In an emotional update shared online, Huxley’s mother expressed her immense gratitude to the thousands who shared her initial post.

“Firstly I just want to say thank you to all with all of my heart for sharing my post yesterday,” she wrote. “Every single person who shared commented and tagged it’s you guys who have helped me find Huxley’s hero 🫶🏻”

The family has now identified the man who performed the life-saving Heimlich manoeuvre as Tom Lee-Newton.

“Tom Lee-Newton Me and my family will forever be grateful for all you did for Huxley, You saved my sons life yesterday!” Huxley’s mother declared.

She also extended heartfelt thanks to Tom’s wife for providing comfort during the terrifying ordeal:

“Also want to thank your wife for comforting me, As a mother it was the most terrifying moment of my life, I just felt like my whole world was crumbling around me with every second that passed! – You guys deserve all the recognition right now ❤️ Huxley’s hero 🙏🏼”

The family also acknowledged another individual, Aaron Alston, for his quick thinking in offering helpful advice during the emergency.

“I also want to thank another man Aaron Alston for giving advice when this happened, You was brilliant 🫶🏻” she stated.

Sycamore Farm – Farmhouse Inns also reached out to the family, offering support and a future meal.

“I also want to thank Sycamore Farm – Farmhouse Inns for reaching out, Sending love and also offering this family and my own family a meal back when we are feeling up to it! You’ve been amazing and I appreciate this gesture a lot! ❤️🙏🏼” Huxley’s mother shared.

Providing a positive update on Huxley’s well-being, she confirmed that he had been checked over at A&E and is now recovering well.

“Huxley has been to A&E and has been checked over – He is now back to his normal giddy self 🥰”

Reflecting on the traumatic experience, Huxley’s mother shared her decision to take further preventative measures:

“Iv now ordered a LifeVac to have at home and in my car incase this was to ever happen again to me or to anyone else!” She also addressed comments regarding first aid knowledge, explaining that while she does possess first aid skills, the sheer panic of the moment made it difficult to react effectively.

“Also for those who have said for me to go on a first aid course etc – I know first aid, I also know how to help babies and toddlers with choking etc but in that moment I just panicked – You don’t know how you are going to react in that moment… I tried, It wasn’t working which made me panic even more, Like I say you can have all the knowledge in the world but when it comes down to it you just don’t know how you will react!!!”

The family is now urging the public to continue sharing their updated post to ensure that Tom Lee-Newton receives the recognition he so rightly deserves for his life-saving actions. “🚨🚨🚨 I ASK AGAIN, PLEASE SHARE THIS POST AND LETS GET HUXLEYS HERO THE RECOGNITION HE DESERVES 🙏🏼🚨🚨🚨” she implored.

This story highlights the power of community and the incredible bravery of ordinary individuals who step up in critical situations.

A spokesperson for Sycamore Farm said on social media:

“We’ve just seen the post that’s gone viral about a little boy choking and a wonderful couple came to his rescue and saved his life! How amazing!

“The mother of the little boy would like to thank you properly, and we would like to invite you back on us! Please message us.”

The swift response of Tom Lee-Newton and the support of others present turned a potentially devastating event into a testament to human kindness and courage.
