A 13-year-old boy is in hospital with serious leg injuries following a collision between a car and a moped in Blackburn last night.
Police were called to Bank Top, Blackburn, at 8:29 pm on Tuesday, April 8th, following reports of a collision.
Upon arrival, officers found that a Peugeot 208 Active had collided with an AJS Modena 125 moped.
The rider of the moped, a 13-year-old boy, sustained serious leg injuries and was immediately taken to hospital for treatment. He remains in hospital at this time.
A 15-year-old boy, who was a pillion passenger on the moped, suffered minor injuries and also attended hospital for treatment.
Lancashire Police have issued an appeal for witnesses and any available footage as they investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
“Our thoughts first and foremost are with the boy as he undergoes treatment in hospital,” a police spokesperson said.
“As we investigate what happened, we are appealing for witnesses and footage.”
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the collision on Bank Top to come forward.
They are also keen to hear from anyone who was driving in the area around the time of the incident and may have dashcam footage, or anyone who has CCTV footage that could assist their investigation.
