Man Charged Following Broughton Co-op Burglary

A 44-year-old man has been charged following a burglary at the Co-op store on Garstang Road in Broughton.

Police were called to the scene at approximately 3:00 am yesterday, Tuesday, April 8th, following reports that a window had been smashed and cash and bottles of whiskey stolen.

With the assistance of Police Dog Woody, a man was located nearby and subsequently arrested.

Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, Stephen Bosanko, 44, of no fixed address, has been charged with burglary and possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place in connection with the incident.

Bosanko also faces a separate charge of burglary at Toni&Guy Hairdressers on Fishergate, Preston, which occurred on March 30th.

Stephen Bosanko has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Preston Magistrates Court today, Wednesday, April 9th.
