Four Men Charged with Murder of Jacqueline Rutter in Wirral Shooting

Four men have been charged with the murder of 53-year-old Jacqueline Rutter, who was fatally shot in her home in Moreton, Wirral, in October 2022.

The charges follow a protracted and intricate investigation by Merseyside Police.

Jacqueline Rutter was shot in the chest at approximately 1 am on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at her residence on Meadowbrook Road.

The following individuals have been charged with murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life/enable another to do so, and possession of ammunition with intent to endanger life/enable another to do so:

* Simon Allen, 54, of no fixed abode
* James Byrne, 23, of no fixed abode
* Barrie Glynn, 46, of Westway, in Heswall
* David Harrison, 58, of Old Meadow Road, in Pensby

Additionally, a fifth individual, Anna McGinn, 25, of Frankby Stiles, in Birkenhead, has been charged with two counts of assisting an offender.

All five individuals are scheduled to appear at Liverpool Magistrate’s Court tomorrow, Thursday, April 10th.

Merseyside Police have emphasized that with criminal proceedings now active against all five individuals, it is crucial that there should be no reporting, commentary, or sharing of information online that could potentially prejudice these proceedings.

The investigation team continues to appeal for information from the public.
