Quick Action by Fire Crews Prevents Serious Damage in Carnforth Dryer Fire

Swift action from fire crews prevented a potentially more serious incident on Arnhem Road in Carnforth on Saturday evening. At 18:51 hours on April 5th, 2025, fire engines from Carnforth and Bolton-le-Sands were dispatched to reports of a fire at a property on the residential street.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a tumble dryer was alight. Crews immediately tackled the blaze, utilizing one hose reel to extinguish the flames effectively.

To ensure the property was safe and clear of smoke, a positive pressure ventilation unit was also employed.

The prompt response of the fire service successfully contained the fire to the tumble dryer, preventing it from spreading to other parts of the property.

Firefighters were detained at the scene for approximately thirty minutes to ensure the area was safe and to carry out necessary checks.
