Motorcyclist Dies Following Serious Collision on M53 Moreton Spur

A 31-year-old motorcyclist has tragically died following a serious road traffic collision on the M53 at the slip road for Junction 2 (Moreton Spur).

Emergency services, including police, paramedics, and the air ambulance, were called to the scene at approximately 3:30 pm this afternoon (Sunday, April 6th).

Sadly, despite their efforts, the motorcyclist succumbed to significant injuries sustained after it is believed he fell from his bike on the northbound slip road at Junction 2.

No other vehicles are reported to have been involved in the incident.

Traffic collision investigators are currently conducting a thorough examination of the scene to establish the full circumstances of the collision.

As a result of the incident, the M53 northbound has been closed and is expected to remain closed for a considerable period.

Motorists are being strongly advised to seek alternative routes to avoid significant delays.

Merseyside Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have captured relevant footage on CCTV or dashcam to come forward.
