A Lancaster man has been handed a significant jail sentence for a shocking campaign of violence against a woman, which included a brutal physical assault shortly after a surgical procedure and a separate sexual assault.
Timothy Talbot-Johnstone, 53, formerly of The Piazza, Lancaster, was sentenced to five years and three months imprisonment at Preston Crown Court last Monday, March 31st.
The sentence followed a Lancashire Police investigation initiated after the victim bravely came forward with her harrowing ordeal.
The court heard how Talbot-Johnstone subjected the woman to a vicious assault, punching her in the stomach in the immediate aftermath of her undergoing a surgical procedure, causing actual bodily harm. The victim subsequently reported a separate incident of sexual assault.
Following a trial in September of last year, a jury found Talbot-Johnstone guilty of assault causing actual bodily harm. He later admitted to the charge of sexual assault at a hearing in December.
The sentencing hearing last Monday saw Judge [Insert Judge’s Name if available] deliver the custodial sentence, reflecting the severity of Talbot-Johnstone’s crimes and the impact on his victim.
In addition to the jail term, Talbot-Johnstone was also issued with a 10-year restraining order, offering the victim a measure of protection in the future.
