Elderly Woman Named as Victim in Fatal Haworth Collision

An 81-year-old woman who tragically died following a road traffic collision in Haworth yesterday, April 6th, has been formally identified as Sheena McKerrell from Hebden Bridge.

Ms. McKerrell was involved in the collision as a pedestrian on Bridgehouse Lane at its junction with Ivy Bank Lane at approximately 5:35 PM. Sadly, she succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed the identity of the deceased today and are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.

A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving in connection with the collision. He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Officers from the Major Collision Enquiry Team (MCET) are urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision or possesses relevant dash cam footage, either of the incident itself or in the moments leading up to it, to come forward.
