105-Year-Old Man Dies Following Mobility Scooter Collision In Uckfield

A 105-year-old man has tragically died following a collision in Uckfield on Saturday afternoon.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:44 PM on the B2102 Bell Farm Road, east of its junction with Brookside.

The man, a resident of Uckfield, was crossing the road in his mobility scooter when he was struck by a blue Ford KA.

Sussex Police were immediately alerted to the collision and attended the scene.

Paramedics also responded and worked to save the man, but sadly he was pronounced deceased at the location.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers during this difficult time.

The driver of the Ford KA, an 87-year-old woman from Ringmer, was reported to be uninjured in the collision.

A section of the B2102 Bell Farm Road was temporarily closed to allow emergency services to attend to the scene and conduct initial investigations.

Police are now appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have captured dash cam footage of the incident to come forward.
