A 36-year-old man of no fixed address has been arrested in connection with two recent incidents of indecent exposure in Hoghton, Lancashire.
Police confirmed today that officers were initially called on Friday, April 5th, 2025, to a report of a man exposing himself near Brindle Lodge off Hoghton Lane.
Following this incident, enquiries were launched to identify the suspect.
The investigation progressed yesterday afternoon, Saturday, April 6th, when police received a further call reporting a man exposing himself in the Hoghton Bottoms area.
In this instance, members of the public had detained the individual prior to the arrival of police.
Officers attended the scene and arrested the 36-year-old man on suspicion of indecent exposure.
He is currently in custody and police have confirmed that the two incidents are being treated as linked.
Authorities have acknowledged the understandable concern these incidents will cause within the local community.
“We know that incidents of this nature, while rare, understandably cause real concern in the community. And that is why we wanted to give you this update,” a police spokesperson stated.
Lancashire Police are appealing for anyone with information that could assist their investigation to come forward.
