A 30-year-old man has been sentenced to 19 years in prison after being convicted of raping two 14-year-old girls he met at Victoria train station in central London.
Abdul-Majed Saif, of Great West Road, Hounslow, was sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court on Tuesday, April 1.
He will also serve an additional six-and-a-half years on licence following his release. Saif was found guilty of nine counts of rape on January 31 at the same court, following a trial.
The court heard how Saif approached the two teenagers at Victoria station on April 28, 2024.
He offered them cannabis and persuaded them to accompany him back to his residence in Osterley, where he subsequently raped them.
After the victims reported the horrific ordeal to police and provided Saif’s address, he was swiftly arrested on May 2, 2024.
Saif denied the charges and was released on bail while a thorough investigation was conducted.
Forensic evidence, combined with the compelling testimonies of the two young survivors, built a strong case against him, leading to his subsequent charge and conviction on multiple counts of rape.
Both teenagers received support from specially trained officers throughout the entirety of the investigation.
Detective Constable Stephen Gayfer from the West Area Command Unit, who led the investigation, praised the bravery of the victims.
“I want to thank both survivors in this case for coming forward and helping to get a dangerous predator like Saif off the streets.
The abuse he has put these children through is absolutely sickening and is something which will undoubtedly affect them for the rest of their lives,” he said.
“I don’t underestimate the immense courage it took for them to come forward and speak to police and I’d like to commend them on their strength throughout our investigation.”
DC Gayfer also raised concerns that Saif may have targeted other individuals, urging any further victims to come forward.
“It is possible that Saif has preyed on others and I’d encourage anyone who has been abused by this man to reach out and get in touch with us. You will be supported and you will be listened to.”
Detective Superintendent Rebecca Reeves, Head of Public Protection at West Area, described Saif as a “dangerous predator.”
She stated, “The lengthy term of imprisonment he has been given reflects the very serious nature of the harm that he has caused to these young people.
They have been incredibly courageous in coming forward.”
She further emphasised the dedication of officers in tackling such crimes:
“Officers in our dedicated Rape and Serious Sexual Offences teams work tirelessly to pursue the offenders who target vulnerable children.
We are determined to secure justice for child victims of sexual exploitation.”
