West Yorkshire Police have issued a statement today addressing the ongoing investigation into the tragic murder of a 16-year-old boy in Huddersfield on Thursday afternoon.
While limited by legal constraints, authorities are actively working to combat the spread of misinformation circulating on social media platform X regarding the circumstances of the incident and the ethnicities of those involved.
In a direct appeal to the public, police clarified that initial inquiries indicate the incident is not gang-related and is not linked to any wider dispute between groups.

Providing an update on the investigation, police confirmed that a 20-year-old man from Kirkburton remains in custody on suspicion of murder.
