Oldham Man Charged Following Football Pitch Stabbing Incident in Appleton

A 28-year-old man has been charged in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred on a football pitch in Appleton last month.

Duewan Mckenmon, of Lune Street, Oldham, was arrested on Monday, March 11, 2024, following the incident at Broomfields Leisure Centre in Appleton.

Cheshire Police have now confirmed that Mckenmon has been issued with a postal requisition, compelling him to appear at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, May 13, to face a string of serious charges.

He is accused of attempt wounding with intent, two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, affray, and possession of an offensive weapon.

The charges relate to an incident that took place at the leisure centre at approximately 9:34 pm on Monday, March 11, 2024.

It is alleged that Mckenmon used a screwdriver to stab others during an altercation on the football pitch.

The upcoming appearance at Warrington Magistrates’ Court will mark the next stage in the legal proceedings against Mckenmon.

Further details regarding the alleged incident are expected to be heard during the court hearing.
