
A 20-year-old man from Kirkburton is due to appear before magistrates in Leeds today following a fatal stabbing in Huddersfield on Thursday afternoon.
Alfie Franco, of The Crescent, Kirkburton, has been charged with the murder of a 16-year-old male and with possession of a knife in a public place.
He is scheduled to appear at the morning session of Leeds Magistrate’s Court today, Saturday, April 5th, after being charged overnight. He was detained in custody pending his court appearance.
The charges follow an incident that occurred at approximately 2:45 pm on Ramsden Street in Huddersfield on Thursday, April 3rd.
The 16-year-old victim sustained a single stab wound to the neck and tragically died later in hospital as a result of his injury.
West Yorkshire Police had previously arrested a male and a female on suspicion of assisting an offender. They have since been released on police bail as enquiries continue.
The Homicide and Major Enquiry Team (HMET) is continuing its investigation into the fatal stabbing. They are urging anyone who may have information about the incident, including any relevant footage or CCTV, to come forward.
