Two people have tragically died following a caravan fire at Goldenbeach Holiday Park in Ingoldmells. Emergency services were called to the scene on Roman Bank at 3:53 am this morning (Saturday, April 5th) following reports of a blaze engulfing a caravan.
Lincolnshire Police have confirmed the devastating news and stated that the next of kin of the deceased have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
Fire crews from Skegness, Wainfleet, Spilsby, and Alford were dispatched to tackle the fire. As of this afternoon, two fire crews remain at the holiday park as fire investigations are underway to determine the cause of the incident.
Police have also deployed Crime Scene Investigators to the site to assist with the investigation.
In a statement, Lincolnshire Police emphasized that the investigation is in its very early stages and they are currently keeping an open mind regarding the cause of the fire.
“We were called at 3.53 am today (5 April) to a report of a caravan fire at the holiday park where two people have tragically lost their lives,” a spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said.
“Their next of kin have been informed and will be supported by specially trained officers.”
The statement continued, “Fire & Rescue crews attended from Skegness, Wainfleet, Spilsby and Alford. There are two crews still at the scene and fire investigations are on-going.”
“We have Crime Scene Investigators on site, and we are carrying out inquiries to determine the exact cause of the fire. We are at the very early stages of our investigation and as such we are keeping an open mind.”
