Bearded Man In Camouflage Jacket Fires Shots At House In Merseyside

Merseyside Police are investigating a firearms incident that occurred on William Henry Street in Bootle yesterday evening (Friday, April 4).

Just after 5:50 pm, police received reports that shots had been fired by a bearded male wearing a camouflage jacket. The gunfire caused damage to a house on the street.

Officers swiftly attended the scene and found damage to the front wall of the property. Fortunately, no-one was injured during the incident.

A team of Crime Scene Investigators has been deployed to conduct forensic examinations at the location, and house-to-house enquiries are currently underway as part of the investigation.

In response to the incident, Merseyside Police have increased high visibility patrols in the Bootle area to provide reassurance to the community.

Detective Inspector Keith Swift commented on the ongoing investigation, stating: “An investigation into the full circumstances of this incident is ongoing, however, we do believe it was a targeted attack.”

He appealed to the public for assistance, saying:

“I would appeal to anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area around Owen Road shortly before, or after the incident, to contact us. Information they have could be vital.”
