Preston Teenager Arrested on Drug and Knife Offences Following Guildhall Street Stop

An 18-year-old man from Preston was arrested last night following a stop and search on Guildhall Street.

At approximately 8:00 PM on Thursday, April 3rd, patrolling officers detained the individual for a search.

During the search, officers discovered a lock knife and 15 wraps believed to be heroin and crack cocaine.

The teenager was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife/bladed article in a public place and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

A spokesperson for the local police confirmed the incident, stating,

“Officers conducted a stop and search on a man on Guildhall Street yesterday evening, which resulted in the discovery of a knife and suspected Class A drugs.

An 18-year-old man from Preston was arrested in connection with these findings.”

The spokesperson further added that the arrested individual has since been released on bail pending further enquiries into the incident.

This arrest highlights the ongoing efforts of local law enforcement to combat drug-related crime and the carrying of offensive weapons within the city centre.
