Teenage Girls Robbed at Knifepoint in Prestwich

Greater Manchester Police are appealing for information after two teenage girls were robbed at knifepoint on Sunday evening in Prestwich.

The victims, aged 15 and 18, were walking home when they were targeted.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:40 pm on Sunday, March 30th, near the junction of Bury New Road and St Mary’s Road.

According to reports, a man initially walked in front of the girls before turning onto St Mary’s Road ahead of them.

He then reportedly emerged from behind a bush or hedge and demanded money from the pair at knifepoint. He proceeded to steal their mobile phones before fleeing the scene.

Fortunately, neither of the victims sustained any physical injuries during the ordeal.

The suspect is described as a white man, in his 30s, with a stocky build. He had a brown beard, dark facial features, and thick eyebrows. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a grey tracksuit, a black puffer jacket, a dark hat, and white shoes, possibly Nike trainers.

Greater Manchester Police are conducting ongoing enquiries into the robbery and are appealing to the public for assistance.
