West Yorkshire Police are renewing their appeal for information following an attempted serious sexual assault on a woman in Rawdon.
The incident occurred on Larkfield Road, near Rawdon Cricket Club, at approximately 11:30 PM on Friday, March 28th.
The victim, a woman in her forties, reported being attacked while walking along Larkfield Road towards Keelham Drive. She was pushed to the ground by a man who attempted to remove her jeans.
A struggle ensued, during which the victim was punched in the face.
The suspect subsequently fled the scene along Larkfield Road, heading towards Larkfield Mount. He is described as a white male, aged between 20 and 30, with mousy brown/ginger wavy hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black hooded top.
A man previously arrested in connection with the attack has now been released from the investigation with no further action taken.
Detective Sergeant Gemma Daley, of Leeds District Safeguarding Unit, stated,
“We are still keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw anyone matching the suspect’s description in the area, particularly anyone who was driving through the area and may have dashcam footage of the suspect in the vicinity.”
“We recognise the understandable concern that an incident of this nature will have caused in the local community and we are liaising with our colleagues on the local neighbourhood policing team who have increased their patrols of the area to reassure people,” she added.
Specially trained officers are providing ongoing support to the victim as the investigation continues.
