Family Pay Tribute To Woman With Kind Heart Killed Following Collision With Fire Engine

The family of 59-year-old Judy Lea, who tragically died in a collision on Crewe Road, Alsager, on March 28th, have released a heartfelt tribute, remembering her as a loving wife, mother, and dedicated optometrist.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:22 am at the junction of Crewe Road and Close Lane, involving a Lexus NX, driven by Mrs. Lea, and a fire engine responding to an emergency call.

Mrs. Lea, a resident of Alsager, sustained fatal injuries in the collision.

In a statement released through Cheshire Police, her family expressed their profound grief:

“Judy will be forever missed by her husband and three children, as well as countless friends. Her loss will forever leave a huge hole in our lives, and she will never be forgotten.”

They fondly remembered her selfless nature, highlighting her willingness to help anyone in need.

“Anybody who knew Judy would know how she would always be the first to help any loved one, friend or neighbour with anything they required, no matter how large or small. Her kind heart and nurturing nature is the reason why she is leaving behind so many loved ones, friends and family members.”

Beyond her personal life, Judy Lea was a respected figure in the field of optometry.

“Alongside her personal life, Judy dedicated her life to her career of Optometry where not only did she build a successful practice to care for her community, but she was also passionate about improving the quality of eye care for the public, improving diabetic eye care services in her local area and was also instrumental in training thousands of Optometrists throughout her career.”

The family concluded their tribute by expressing the immeasurable loss they are experiencing.

“Words cannot truly capture the devastating loss that we as her family and friends are currently experiencing, as we all know we have lost a very special soul.”

Cheshire Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances of the collision and are appealing for witnesses.
