Detectives are continuing their investigation into the tragic deaths of two siblings, Michelle and Gordon Mileham, at their home in Holstein Way, Thamesmead.
Police were alerted to concerns for the welfare of the occupants of the address on Tuesday, March 11, at approximately 15:00hrs.
Upon gaining entry, emergency services discovered the bodies of a 51-year-old woman, Michelle Mileham, and a 53-year-old man, Gordon Mileham, both suffering from severe injuries.
Tragically, both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Formal identification has since been completed, and their next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers.
Post-mortem examinations have revealed that both Michelle and Gordon died as a result of stab injuries. The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that Michelle’s death is being treated as murder.
However, Gordon’s death is not being treated as suspicious, and detectives are not seeking any other individuals in connection with the incident.
The circumstances surrounding the deaths are still under investigation.
An inquest into the deaths is scheduled to open at Croydon Coroner’s Court on April 10, where further details may be revealed.
The Metropolitan Police have released a statement expressing their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and have assured the community that a thorough investigation is underway.
