Thankfully, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident, and the school has implemented appropriate safeguarding measures.

Chief Inspector Dave Morgan of Wirral Local Policing addressed the community’s concerns, stating,

“We understand the concern that such incidents can cause, especially at one of our junior schools. Officers will remain in liaison with the school and our partners to offer reassurance to pupils, parents, carers and staff alike.”

The police are urging anyone with information about young people carrying weapons to come forward.

“In the meantime, should you have any information about young people carrying weapons, please come forward,” Chief Inspector Morgan added.

Members of the public can provide information by contacting Merseyside Police via @MerpolCC on X (formerly Twitter), by calling 101, or anonymously through Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.

In case of an ongoing crime, individuals are advised to call 999 immediately.

The school has not released an official statement, but police have confirmed that they are working closely with the institution to ensure the safety and well-being of all students and staff.

The investigation remains ongoing.
