A man has died after being shot by police officers at Milton Keynes railway station earlier today.
Thames Valley Police and British Transport Police responded to reports of a man carrying a firearm at the station on Elder Gate at 12:55 PM.
Armed officers from Thames Valley Police attended the scene and engaged with the individual. During the encounter, police firearms were discharged.
“Life-saving actions were immediately taken at the scene,” a police spokesperson stated, “but sadly, the man was pronounced dead at 1:44 PM.”
Authorities have confirmed that there is no perceived ongoing threat to the public following the incident.
The incident has caused significant disruption at the station, with parts of it being cordoned off as forensic investigations are carried out.
Witnesses at the scene reported a heavy police presence, including armed officers and emergency services.
