Attempted Murder Arrest Following Preston Double Stabbing

A 15-year-old boy is in serious but stable condition after a stabbing incident on Blackpool Road near Moor Park on Monday afternoon.

Lancashire Police have arrested three teenagers in connection with the assault.
Police were called to the scene shortly after 4 pm on March 31st following reports of a serious assault.

Upon arrival, they found two 15-year-old boys suffering from stab wounds.

One sustained serious injuries and was immediately taken to hospital, where he remains under treatment. The second boy’s injuries were less severe.

Following swift investigations, Lancashire Police have made three arrests:

* A 14-year-old boy, from Preston, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and affray.
* A 15-year-old boy, from Preston, has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding and affray.
* A 15-year-old boy, from Preston, has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

All three remain in police custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Sean Kelly-Martland of South CID urged the public to come forward with any information that could assist the investigation.

“This incident has left a young man with some very significant injuries, and while we have now made a number of arrests as part of our investigation, I would continue to appeal to anyone who may have seen what happened or who has any information of footage which may assist us piecing together the events of yesterday afternoon to get in touch,” he said.

Police are particularly interested in obtaining dashcam or CCTV footage from Blackpool Road and Moor Park Avenue, near Moor Park, between 3:30 pm and 4:15 pm.

“I’m sure hearing about this will have caused a great deal of concern and upset in the immediate area and more widely and I want to reassure people that we have a team of detectives working on this case,” DCI Kelly-Martland added.

“People will see an increase in our officers in the area so if you have any concerns, or information, please do go and speak to them.”

The police have also cautioned against sharing any footage of the assault on social media, emphasizing the impact it has on those directly affected.

They urged the public to refrain from speculation and instead report any information through official channels.
