TWO teenage boys were taken to hospital after being stabbed near Moor Park, Preston, on Monday afternoon, leaving families playing nearby in shock.

Emergency services, including an air ambulance, descended on the scene, prompting a large police presence and cordoning off a section of the park.

Lancashire Police were called to reports of an assault shortly after 4 pm on Blackpool Road.

Upon arrival, they found a teenage boy suffering from a stab wound. He was immediately taken to hospital, and his condition has been described as serious but stable.

The incident occurred just yards from a children’s playground, causing significant concern among families enjoying the park.

One father, who wished to remain anonymous, told reporters he was present with his children and was unaware of any disturbance until the arrival of emergency services.

“It’s horrifying,” he said. “You bring your kids to the park to play, and then something like this happens. It’s just shocking.”

A significant police cordon was established between Deepdale Road and Garstang Road, with a section of Moor Park itself cordoned off around a large bush near the Blackpool Road side.

Police dogs were deployed to search nearby bushes, and forensic investigators in white suits were later seen conducting detailed examinations of the area alongside detectives.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police released a statement earlier confirming the incident:

“You may be aware of some emergency service activity in the Moor Park area of Preston this afternoon and we wanted to give you some more detail.

We were called at shortly after 4pm to reports of an assault and officers have attended and a boy in his teens has been taken to hospital with a stab wound.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Anyone with information is urged to call 101, quoting log 1001 of March 31st.
