A 71-year-old man has tragically died following a single-vehicle collision on New Cut Lane in Halsall, Ormskirk.
Lancashire Police are now appealing for information and footage from the public to aid their investigation.
Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 1pm on Saturday, March 30th, after reports that a Ford Focus Zetec had left the carriageway.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Our thoughts are with his family, who are being supported by specially trained Family Liaison Officers,” a spokesperson for Lancashire Police stated.
Preliminary enquiries indicate that no other vehicles were involved in the incident. Officers are now working to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision.
The police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has any dashcam or CCTV footage that could assist their investigation to come forward.
“If you have any information or footage that could assist our enquiries, please get in touch,” the spokesperson added.
