A man in his 40s is in hospital with serious injuries following an assault in Corporation Street, Blackburn, in the early hours of this morning (March 29).
Police officers were dispatched to the scene outside The Chippery shortly after 2am, following reports from the North West Ambulance Service.
Upon arrival, they found the injured man, who was immediately taken to hospital. He is currently in a stable condition.
Lancashire Police have launched an investigation into the assault and are actively pursuing leads to identify the individuals responsible.
Detectives and uniformed officers are conducting extensive enquiries, and residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the area.
A spokesperson for the police stated,
“We know this may be concerning to hear about, but we want to reassure you that we have a dedicated team of detectives and uniformed officers carrying out enquiries, and you will see an increased presence in the area.
If you have any concerns or information, please do approach our officers as they carry out their duties.”
Authorities are appealing to the public for assistance in their investigation. Anyone who witnessed the assault, or who has any information or footage that could be helpful, is urged to come forward.
