Two men have been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of a woman in her 60s.

The collision occurred on Grahame Park Way, NW9, on Tuesday, 25 March.

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that the two suspects, aged 18 and 19, were apprehended on Wednesday, 26 March.

They were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident. Both individuals are currently in police custody as investigations continue.

The incident involved a car colliding with a female pedestrian. Despite the swift response and efforts of emergency services, the woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

“Her family are being kept updated with the progress of this investigation and continue to be supported by specially trained officers,” a police spokesperson stated.

The vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene but was later discovered abandoned on nearby Franco Avenue.

Detectives from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are leading the inquiry and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

They are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who witnessed the collision itself, as well as anyone who saw individuals abandoning the vehicle on Franco Avenue.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who saw the incident or anyone leaving the car in Franco Avenue, including road users who have camera footage, to get in contact,” a detective involved in the case said.

Anyone with information is urged to contact detectives on 020 8246 9820, or dial 101, quoting CAD4453/25March.
