Leeds Police Appeal for Information Following Unexplained Death of Darren Leach

West Yorkshire Police are appealing for information following the unexplained death of 53-year-old Darren Leach, whose body was discovered at his home on Marsden Grove, Beeston, Leeds.

Officers were called to the property at 8:29 am on Wednesday, March 19th, after receiving a report of concern for safety.

Paramedics who attended the scene confirmed Mr. Leach’s death shortly after.

A small fire was also discovered within the property.

Mr. Leach, who resided at the address, has now been formally identified.

Detective Chief Inspector Stacey Atkinson, leading the investigation from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, stated,

“We are currently treating Darren’s death as unexplained. To help with our enquiries, we would like to hear from any witnesses who might have seen Darren at any point on the previous day, Tuesday 18th March.”

Police are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have seen Mr. Leach in the following locations:

* Cross Flatts Park: Anyone who saw him in the park on Tuesday morning, March 18th.
* Beeston Road Shops: Anyone who saw him walking between the park and the parade of shops on Beeston Road between 12:00 pm and 2:30 pm on Tuesday afternoon.
* Marsden Grove/Beeston Area: Anyone who may have spoken with or seen Darren from 2:30 pm on Tuesday until he was discovered by officers the following morning.

“We are also seeking anyone that may have spoken with or seen Darren from 2.30pm on the Tuesday up until him being found by officers the following morning,” DCI Atkinson added.

Specialist officers are providing support to Mr. Leach’s family during this difficult time.
