Man arrested after young woman allegedly sexually assaulted in Shoe Zone

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses following a sexual assault that occurred at a retail store in Catterick.

A young woman reported being inappropriately touched at approximately 1 pm on Monday, March 24th, at the Shoezone store located in Princes Gate.

In connection with the incident, a man in his 70s was arrested.

He has since been released on bail while police conduct further investigations.

Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the assault and has not yet spoken to them to come forward.

“We are keen to speak with anyone who may have seen what happened,” said PC1839 Walsh of North Yorkshire Police.

“Even seemingly small details could be crucial to our investigation.”
