Four individuals have been arrested following a series of incidents involving car crashes and an armed altercation that occurred in the Deepdale and Ribbleton areas of Preston on Wednesday, March 26th.
Lancashire Police were first alerted to an affray at Deepdale Retail Park at approximately 12 noon. Reports indicated that two vehicles had collided with other cars, and a confrontation involving weapons had taken place between two groups.
By the time officers arrived at the scene, both vehicles had fled.
Shortly after, police received further reports of an affray in the Grange Avenue area. Armed officers were deployed, leading to the arrest of four individuals on suspicion of affray: two men aged 19, a 23-year-old man, and an 18-year-old woman.
Additionally, a 42-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis.
“An investigation is ongoing, but at this stage, we believe the incidents are isolated and involve people known to one another,” stated a spokesperson for Lancashire Police.
“We also believe at this time that the incidents are not linked to any previous recent incidents in the Ribbleton area.”
In an effort to reassure the community, Lancashire Police have announced that extra patrols will be conducted in the affected areas over the coming days.
The police expressed their gratitude to the public for their cooperation and understanding during the “fast-moving and dynamic situation.”
