Fleetwood Man Charged After £20,000 Drug Seizure

A 20-year-old man has been charged with multiple drug offences following a significant seizure by the Wyre Taskforce in the Heathfield Road area of Fleetwood.

On Tuesday, officers on routine patrol initiated contact with a male who attempted to flee.

A subsequent search under the Misuse of Drugs Act led to the man’s arrest after a large quantity of drugs was discovered.

Lancashire Police have confirmed that the seized substances, now tested, have an estimated street value exceeding £20,000.

The arrested individual, Riley Austin, 20, of Hodder Avenue, Fleetwood, has been charged with:

* Two counts of possessing a Class A drug, crack cocaine, with intent to supply.
* Possessing a Class A drug, heroin, with intent to supply.
* Possessing a bladed article.
* Being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug, crack cocaine, between December 24, 2024, and March 25, 2025.

Austin has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear before Lancashire Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

The Wyre Taskforce has reiterated its commitment to targeting drug supply and organized criminal activity within the Wyre area.

They have stated that operations like this will continue in order to keep the community safe.
