Mountain rescue teams and police have intensified their search for Brian Fletcher, who went missing on Saturday, March 22nd, and is believed to be in the Tockholes area.
Yesterday, a large-scale operation was launched, involving a significant number of rescue and emergency services.

Lancashire Police, alongside Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, coordinated the effort, which included specialist teams from Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team (BPMRT), Rossendale & Pendle Mountain Rescue Team, Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team, Calder Valley Search & Rescue Team, Oldham Mountain Rescue Team, Cheshire Search and Rescue, North West Police Underwater Search & Marine Unit, and a highly trained search dog from SARDA Southern Scotland.

The comprehensive search covered a wide area, as authorities remain deeply concerned for Mr. Fletcher’s well-being.
The operation reflects the commitment of multiple agencies to locate him safely.

Lancashire Constabulary is now appealing to the public for assistance, specifically seeking dashcam footage from anyone who travelled along the A675 Belmont Road between 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm on Saturday, March 22nd.

“We are urging anyone who was driving on the A675 Belmont Road during that time to check their dashcam footage,” stated a spokesperson for Lancashire
Constabulary. “Any information, no matter how small, could be crucial to our investigation.”

Anyone with dashcam footage or information that may assist in the search is asked to contact Lancashire Constabulary by calling 101 and quoting log number 1544 of March 22nd, 2025.
The search efforts are ongoing, and the community is encouraged to remain vigilant and report any potential sightings or relevant information to the police.
