A somber discovery has been made in the search for missing Wigan resident, Darren Orme.
Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that a body has been located in the Stadium Way area of Wigan.
While formal identification procedures are still underway, authorities have informed Mr. Orme’s family of the development.
Specialist officers are currently providing support to the family during this difficult time.
“While formal identification has not yet taken place, Darren’s family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers at this time,” a statement from Greater Manchester Police read.
The police have also stated that at this stage, there are no indications of suspicious circumstances surrounding the discovery.
Enquiries are ongoing as officers continue to investigate the circumstances.
The search for Darren Orme had been ongoing for several weeks, prompting numerous appeals from both the police and his family.
The police expressed their gratitude to the public for their assistance in sharing these appeals.
“Thank you to everyone who has shared our appeals over the last few weeks,” the police statement concluded.
