Authorities have launched an urgent search for 80-year-old Brian Fletcher, who went missing after travelling from his home in Bury to the Tockholes area of Lancashire on Saturday afternoon, March 22nd, 2025.
Brian, a keen walker, is known to frequent several walking routes in the area, particularly around Higher Roddlesworth Reservoir and Lower Roddlesworth Reservoir.

His vehicle was discovered parked in a layby on the A675, near Tockholes Road, raising concerns for his safety.
Police are appealing to the public for assistance in locating Brian.
He is described as a slim, 5ft 8in tall man with grey hair. He is believed to be wearing a brown cap, blue top, and blue trousers. Notably, he has a small scar on his cheek from a recent medical procedure.
“We are deeply concerned for Brian’s welfare,” stated a spokesperson for Lancashire Constabulary.
“He is a regular walker in this area, and we are urging anyone who has seen him or who is visiting the area to be vigilant and report any sightings immediately.”
The search effort involves police officers, along with support from Bolton Mountain Rescue and Rossendale Mountain Rescue teams, who are actively scouring the area.
Residents and visitors to the Tockholes region are asked to remain observant and report any information that could aid in locating Brian.
