Detectives are urgently appealing for information following a disturbing firearms discharge in the quiet residential area of Dorgan Close last night, Thursday, March 20th.

At approximately 8:40 PM, armed officers responded to reports of damage to a property, suspected to have been caused by gunshots.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, but the incident has left residents shaken.

Police are currently conducting extensive investigations at the scene, including house-to-house inquiries, forensic analysis, and the review of CCTV footage.

Detective Chief Superintendent Karen Jaundrill expressed her concern over the incident, stating,

“The sheer recklessness of firing a gun at a property is plain to see, and it is through chance alone that nobody was harmed in last night’s incident.”

Investigators believe the attack was targeted and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

“Our officers will be at the scene to carry out initial enquiries into what we believe to have been a targeted attack. If you live locally and saw or heard anything, or may have captured the incident or suspects making off on CCTV, dashcam or doorbell devices, please come forward as soon as possible,” DCS Jaundrill urged.

While gun crime has seen a significant reduction in recent years, Merseyside Police are acutely aware of the fear and risk these incidents create within communities.

“Information is always the key to finding those responsible and removing them and any weapon from the streets. So please tell us what you know and we will take positive action,” DCS Jaundrill emphasized.

The police presence in Dorgan Close remains significant as officers continue their investigations.

Merseyside Police are urging anyone with information to contact them through the following channels:
