Two Men Charged Following Ribbleton Incident: Attempted Robbery and Motorbike Collision

Two men have been charged following a violent incident in Ribbleton on Monday, March 17th, involving an attempted robbery and a motorbike collision.

Lancashire Police have confirmed that Leo Reynolds, 18, and Jake Slater, 19, have been charged in connection with the incident, which occurred shortly after 4 pm on Willow Crescent.

The incident began with a report of an attempted robbery in the New Hall Lane and Blackpool Road area, where a man in his 20s was allegedly threatened with a weapon and assaulted.

The victim was then reportedly chased on his motorbike, culminating in a collision with a parked car on Willow Crescent.

“We received a report of a collision between a motorbike and a parked car on Willow Crescent,” said a police spokesperson.

“Upon responding to the collision, we received a report of an attempted robbery prior to the collision.”

Officers, including armed units, attended the scene and arrested Reynolds and Slater on suspicion of wounding.

Leo Reynolds, 18, of Tay Mews, Leyland, has been charged with:
* Attempted robbery
* Section 18 wounding with intent
* Handling stolen goods
* Failing to stop
* Driving without insurance
* Driving otherwise than in accordance with a license

Reynolds was also charged with separate offences related to an incident on March 13th, 2025, including:
* Dangerous driving
* Failing to stop
* Driving otherwise than in accordance with a license
* Driving without insurance
* Possession of a bladed article in a public place.

Jake Slater, 19, of Galloway Close, Leyland, has been charged with:
* Attempted robbery
* Section 18 wounding with intent
* Handling stolen goods.

Both men appeared in court and have been remanded in custody.

The victim, a man in his 20s, sustained injuries and received hospital treatment.

Police have confirmed that his injuries are not life-threatening.

“We know that anyone who saw this incident may be concerned,” the spokesperson added.

“We want to reassure you that we have increased our presence in the area as a precaution and an investigation is ongoing.”

Lancashire Police are now appealing for witnesses and any available footage. They are particularly interested in dashcam footage and information from anyone who saw motorbikes driving in the area between 3:30 pm and 4:40 pm.
