Family’s Loving Words Honor Couple Lost in Reservoir Tragedy

A grieving family has paid tribute to John and Marilyn Saxon, both 78, who tragically died after their car entered Crook Gate Reservoir over the weekend.

Emergency services recovered the couple from the water on Saturday, March 15th, after receiving a call shortly after 10 am.

In a heartfelt statement, the Saxon family described John and Marilyn as “a kind, caring and generous husband and wife.”

They expressed their profound sadness at the loss and requested privacy during this incredibly difficult time.

“The family of John and Marilyn want to pay tribute to a kind, caring and generous husband and wife who sadly passed away following an incident at the reservoir on Saturday. The family ask for privacy during this difficult time,” the statement read.

Authorities are currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and how the vehicle entered the water.

Greater Manchester Police are appealing to the public for assistance.
