The family of 24-year-old Dominic Lloyd from Bolton has released a heartfelt tribute following his tragic death in a single-vehicle collision on the M62 earlier this month.
Dominic lost his life on the evening of Sunday, March 2nd, when his car collided with a bridge between Junction 19 and 18.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
In a statement released through Greater Manchester Police, Dominic’s family described him as a “caring,” “focused,” and “true gentleman.” They emphasized his selfless nature, highlighting that he “always put others before himself” and was a “rock” for his friends and family.
“Dom truly was a wonderful person,” the family said.
“He was everybody’s go-to guy for all of their issues and was a rock for his close friends and family. He had so much care and love in his heart and genuinely cared about those around him, always offering support whenever he felt it might be needed.”
They remembered Dominic’s infectious humor and playful nature, noting that his teasing was always done in good spirit.
“He was extremely funny and although he loved to torment people, it was clear that this was only done jokingly and it never did anybody any harm, quite to the contrary, it cheered people up no-end and everybody described him as a complete gentleman who wasn’t a typical 24-year-old.”
Dominic was described as thoughtful, generous, and mature, with a clear focus on his future and career. He had a passion for cars and dreamed of buying his mother, Claire, a white Range Rover Sport. He also enjoyed team sports, exploring new eateries, and outdoor activities.
“He brightened up a room with his presence and his massive smile,” the family said. “He was always full of enjoyment and was passionate about many things.”
Despite having a large circle of friends, Dominic preferred socializing over dining out or exploring new places rather than drinking in pubs or bars. He also enjoyed gaming, cinema, and watching TV shows.
“To sum up our wonderful son, he was just truly an amazing young man,” the family stated. “He was wickedly funny, staunchly loyal and caring towards his friends and family and was incredibly optimistic. He had his whole future planned out. He knew exactly what he wanted to achieve in life.”
The family expressed their profound grief, stating, “As a family, we are just completely devastated by his death and the loss really is unbearable to us all. We will miss him always.”
