Teenage Scooter Rider Seriously Injured in Morecambe Collision

A teenage boy is in hospital with serious injuries following a collision between a petrol scooter and a car in Morecambe on Saturday night.

Lancashire Police are appealing for witnesses and information.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:15 PM on Saturday, March 15th, at the junction of Albert Road and Chatsworth Road.

A red Toyota Yaris collided with a petrol scooter, resulting in significant injuries to the young scooter rider, a local teenager.

Emergency services attended the scene, and the injured boy was transported to hospital, where he remains receiving treatment.

The driver of the Toyota Yaris stopped at the scene and was reported to be uninjured.

Sergeant Josh Begbie, of the Road Policing Unit, is leading the investigation and has urged anyone with information to come forward.

“This collision has left a young man with some significant injuries, and I would appeal to anyone who saw what happened, or who saw the scooter in the lead up to the collision to get in touch,” he said.

Police are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who saw the scooter prior to the incident.

They are also seeking any potential CCTV, dashcam, Ring doorbell, or mobile phone footage that may have captured the event.

“I would also be keen to hear from anyone who might have any CCTV, dashcam, Ring doorbell or mobile footage,” Sgt. Begbie added.
