Ribbleton Incident: Motorbike Collision Followed by Reported Attempted Robbery and Arrests

A series of incidents unfolded on Willow Crescent in Ribbleton this afternoon, beginning with a collision between a motorbike and a parked car, followed by reports of an attempted robbery and subsequent arrests.

Lancashire Police responded to reports of a motorbike collision on Willow Crescent shortly after 4 PM today. While en route, officers received further information regarding an attempted robbery that had occurred prior to the collision.

It was reported that a man was threatened with a weapon and assaulted.

In response to the escalating situation, armed officers were dispatched to the scene.

At approximately 4:35 PM, police arrested two men, a 19-year-old and an 18-year-old, on suspicion of wounding.

A man in his 20s sustained injuries during the reported assault and is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.

Fortunately, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

“We understand that incidents of this nature can cause concern within the community,” stated a spokesperson for Lancashire Police.

“We want to reassure residents that this is being treated as an isolated incident, and we have increased our presence in the area as a precautionary measure.”

An investigation into the sequence of events is currently underway.

Police are appealing to the public for any information or footage that may assist their enquiries.
